Wilhelmshaven is exactly where the Autobahn 29 ends and can therefore be reached quickly and easily by car or coach. The relatively low volume of traffic on this section of the route and the beautiful landscape to the right and left of the motorway ensure a relaxed journey.
... from the north drive on the A7 to Hamburg and through the Elbe tunnel. The A1 towards Bremen leads you via the A28 towards Oldenburg and finally to the A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
... from the west from the Dutch border it goes over the Ruhr area to the A1 towards Bremen. Then via Oldenburg / A28 to A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
... from the east take the A2 towards Braunschweig / Hannover. Then continue on the A1 to Bremen and A28 towards Oldenburg, then via the A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
... from the south of Germany choose the route via the A9 to the motorway junction Nuremberg. Then on the A3 towards Würzburg, further on the A7 towards Hannover / Hamburg. The A1 / Bremen finally takes you via the A28 towards Oldenburg. Later change to the A29 to Wilhelmshaven.
... with the rental car from e.g. Sixt or Europcar you can conveniently hand in your rented car at the Wilhelmshaven location.
How to get to the Tourist Information (Ebertstraße 110):
Leave the A 29 at exit 3 Wilhelmshaven. Drive along Ostfriesenstraße - Friedrich-Paffrath-Straße and after about 4.3 km turn left into Peterstraße. After approx. 2 km, turn right into Virchowstrasse at the Stadttheater. After approx. 400 m drive past the ZOB / the North Sea Passage and turn right behind the passage into Ebertstraße. After approx. 200 m you will find the tourist information on the left. You can park right in front of it.

If you travel to Wilhelmshaven by train, the route will take you via Oldenburg. All inter-city connections to Wilhelmshaven end there. You change to the NordWestBahn in the direction of Wilhelmshaven Hbf. The NordWestBahn also runs directly on the routes from Esens, Bremen and Osnabrück to Wilhelmshaven.
